Oculus Rift Mechanic

Welcome back from reading week, and into the world of the Rift.

After bringing in an Oculus Rift, and showing off a demo game, we all discussed and voted on a game design to build – an asteroid-dodging game, complete with randomly-spawning obstacles.

Once again, we broke off into groups, but worked on the same project – one team for graphics, another for the spawning and a third for player control. An hour later, the asteroid model and spawning was ready, with our coders slacking off distracted trying to optimize movement. Soon after, we had a working game, complete with a scoring mechanic. While you need an Oculus Rift to play it, we can provide the game to play around in.
